Shores Global Teams with Spry to Provide Virus-blocking Soft Goods

A leading cruise line interior designer and furniture supplier
leverages Pneumapure® filter technology to protect guests and crew

MIAMI, July 8, 2020Shores Global, a leading cruise line interior designer and furniture supplier, announced today that it has expanded its portfolio to include Spry Therapeutics’ soft-surface filter technology, Pneumapure®. This strategic alliance will allow Shores Global to promote the patented filter technology to the cruise and hospitality industry, throughout the United States. The introduction of Spry’s germ-blocking solution in the U.S. also enables Shores to provide safer, cleaner and more sustainable soft goods to cruise lines on a global scale, without compromising comfort.

The emergence and spread of COVID-19 around the U.S. and the globe has spurred calls for new methods and procedures that help minimize the spread of viruses, bacteria, and other potentially deadly pathogens. One of the biggest areas of concern for the spread of pathogens is soft surfaces (i.e., bedding, lounge furniture, and seat cushions), as these are typically long-term reservoirs for contamination. Despite standard cleaning protocols, the cores of these soft goods cannot be effectively cleaned between each use, putting both guests and crew members at risk for infection.

Pneumapure technology has been independently tested and proven to block even the smallest “superbugs” — as small as .02 microns — from entering or exiting any soft surface to which it’s applied, helping prevent the transmission of harmful pathogens. The Pneumapure filter is the essential component to all Spry Pure products.

“Through its relationship with Spry, Shores is the first marine supplier to offer a truly clean alternative to soft surfaces, protecting guests and crew,” says Susan Sadolin, Owner and CEO of Shores Global. “We are thrilled to be able to offer the cruise industry such an essential component to guest safety that will not only minimize the spread of germs onboard, but also provide guests with peace of mind as travel picks up again.”

“It is our mission to help not only the cruise industry, but hospitality as a whole, understand and address the dangers of soft surfaces and offer effective and affordable alternatives to keep guests and staff safe,” says Bill Purdy, CEO and Co-Founder of Spry. “We look forward to working with Shores to ensure a higher standard for guest safety, without compromising comfort.”
