50 U.S. Hospitals Are Using Spry Pure to Combat COVID-19

COVID-19 Prevention Updates
On March 24, Spry Therapeutics announced it would be donating 10,000 filtered medical pillows to hospitals across the U.S. to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Since then, 7 health systems and 50 hospitals across the country have started to use the technology for designated patients.

Select facilities that are leading the charge in soft surface infection prevention include:

Additionally, Cohen Children’s Hospital is using filtered pillows throughout the facility, and will soon be receiving Spry’s filtered mattress pads for their most vulnerable patients in the neonatal ICU. While COVID-19 may not pose an immediate risk to infants, Cohen Children’s Hospital recognizes the importance of taking preventative measures to protect patients and caregivers from other healthcare acquired infections.

Dr. Vita Boyar, Director of Neonatal Skin and Wound Services at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, explores the role that soft surfaces play in infection prevention – especially during the COVID-19 pandemic – in her recent article in Wound Management & Prevention’s April issue.

Pneumapure® Global Initiative
In a global effort to help healthcare facilities understand and address the dangers of contaminated soft surfaces, Spry’s Pneumapure® filter technology has also been implemented overseas in the UK and will be adopted by NHS Wales facilities.
